MUNICH, Germany A new BMW YouTube video shows the reactions of consumers as they test-drive the 2015 BMW i3 electric car.

The test-drivers are "people with no prior experience of electric-powered vehicles," said BMW in a statement.

American actor Josh Hartnett was filmed during his first BMW i3 experience as part of the campaign.

The German automaker has also launched a microsite that allows users to watch people test-drive the i3.

"Unstaged situations and unscripted dialogue convey the authentic reactions and enthusiasms of drivers and their passengers," the company said in a statement.

The reactions appear to be overwhelmingly positive.

The campaign features 45 teams, with 107 people. They were filmed in Berlin, London and Madrid. Further test-drives are planned in Paris, Amsterdam and Oslo.

"The experience is just like a virtual test-drive," said BMW.

The 2015 BMW i3 launches in the U.S. this spring.

Edmunds says: This virtual test-drive can help consumers get a sense of what appears to be the universal appeal of the BMW i3.
