MONTEREY, California — The 2015 Aston Martin V12 Vantage S Roadster, the fastest roadster ever built by the British marquee, will make its global debut on August 14 at the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, the automaker confirmed on Monday.

The high-performance drop top is equipped with a 565-horsepower 6.0-liter AM28 V12 engine. The engine is linked to a seven-speed automated manual transmission.

It has a 201 mph top speed and sprints from zero to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds.

The roadster version of the car follows the spring debut of the 2015 Aston Martin V12 Vantage S coupe.

U.S. deliveries are expected in the fourth quarter of 2014, Aston Martin Spokesman Matthew Clarke told Edmunds. Pricing has not been announced.

Key competitors to the Aston Martin V12 Vantage S Roadster include the Audi R8 Spyder, BMW M6 convertible, Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse and Porsche 911 Turbo S convertible.

Edmunds says: Feeling the wind in your hair in this desirable drop top will cost around $200,000K.
