Initially, Volvo said the 2014 Volvo S60 Polestar was bound for the Australia market as a pilot project. But on Tuesday it confirmed that the S60 and V60 Polestars are set for sale in Canada, the Netherlands, Japan, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the U.S.
The Swedish automaker said additional markets and final production numbers will be revealed next year.
Upgrades include modifications to increase the rigidity of the chassis, high-performance Ohlins shock absorbers and 20-inch Polestar wheels. The brake system is modified with six-piston Brembo calipers.
Exterior cues include front splitters, along with a new rear spoiler and diffuser.
The six-cylinder, turbocharged T6 engine gets a new twin-scroll turbo and intercooler to produce 350 horsepower.
The six-speed automatic transmission features a new paddle shift system.
The cabin gets new materials and Polestar colors.
