2014 Toyota Sienna Earns Five-Star Safety Rating From Federal Government

WASHINGTON — The 2014 Toyota Sienna minivan earned the highest five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The Sienna received four stars in front and rollover impact tests and five stars in the side crash test.

The rating applies to front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions of the Sienna.

The 2014 Sienna received "good" ratings in all Insurance Institute for Highway Safety crash tests, including the moderate overlap front crash test. The forces in that test are similar to those that would result from a frontal offset crash between two vehicles of the same weight, each going just under 40 mph.

Standard safety equipment on the 2014 Sienna includes seven airbags, including side curtain airbags that cover three rows and a driver's knee airbag. Other standard equipment includes electronic stability control, antilock brakes and traction control.

The Sienna competes with the 2014 Chrysler Town & Country, Honda Odyssey, Kia Sedona and Nissan Quest.

Edmunds says: The 2014 Toyota Sienna is one of a trio of popular minivans to have earned the five-star rating. Others include the 2014 Honda Odyssey and Kia Sedona.
