2014 Jeep Compass Earns Four-Star Safety Rating From Federal Government

WASHINGTON — The 2014 Jeep Compass crossover earned a four-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The Compass received three stars in the front crash test, five stars in the side crash test and three stars in the rollover crash test.

Five stars is the highest rating.

The Compass has not been tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

Standard equipment on the Compass includes six airbags, antilock brakes and electronic stability control.

Competitors to the Compass include the 2014 Fiat 500L, Kia Sportage, Mitsubishi Outlander Sport and Toyota RAV4.

Edmunds says: Car shoppers should note that many of the competitors to the Compass also received a four-star overall safety rating, including the Toyota RAV4, Mitsubishi Outlander Sport and the front-wheel-drive version of the Kia Sportage. The Fiat 500L has not been rated.
