2014 Infiniti Q50 Earns Five-Star Overall Safety Rating From Federal Government

WASHINGTON — The 2014 Infiniti Q50 and Infiniti Q50 Hybrid earned the top five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Both rear- and all-wheel drive versions of the Q50 and Q50 Hybrid received the highest overall rating.

Both vehicles received four stars in NHTSA's frontal crash test, five stars in the side crash test and five stars in the rollover crash test.

The 2014 Infiniti Q50 has not been rated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, which also conducts the small overlap front crash test.

The Infiniti Q50 is the renamed Infiniti G sedan. It competes with the Audi A4, Lexus IS Lexus IS and Mercedes-Benz C-Class Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

Edmunds says: Car shoppers in the entry-luxury segment get some critical information with the new federal safety rating for the 2014 Infiniti Q50.
