COSTA MESA, California — The base 2014 Hyundai Elantra Coupe, which is now offered in only one trim level, starts at $20,410, including an $810 destination charge, reflecting a $2,020 price increase over the base 2013 Hyundai Elantra Coupe.

Hyundai said the 2013 Hyundai Elantra Coupe GS and SE trims have been consolidated into one model for the 2014 model year.

A Technology package adds $4,200 to the bottom line of the 2014 Elantra Coupe. It bundles leather seating surfaces, a navigation system, power sunroof, rearview camera, premium audio system, automatic headlights, proximity key entry with push-button start, Blue Link telematics system, projector headlights with LED accents and LED rear taillights.

The refreshed Elantra Coupe debuted at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show.

The updated Elantra Coupe now features a standard 173-horsepower 2.0-liter Nu gasoline direct-injection four-cylinder engine that adds 25 more hp from the prior model year's 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine. The engine is linked to a six-speed automatic transmission with manual control.

The base 2013 Hyundai Elantra Coupe GS, which starts at $18,390, including a $795 destination charge, is equipped with a six-speed manual transmission. The manual transmission is not available on the 2014 model. The base 2013 Hyundai Elantra Coupe GS with a six-speed automatic transmission starts at $19,390, including shipping.

The chief competitor of the Elantra Coupe is the 2014 Honda Civic Coupe.

Hyundai previously announced pricing on the 2014 Hyundai Elantra sedan.

Edmunds says: Buyers of the 2014 Hyundai Elantra Coupe will have to deal with fewer choices in the lineup and a bigger price tag.
