WASHINGTON The 2014 Honda Pilot SUV earned a four-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Standard safety features on the 2014 Pilot include six airbags, including three-row side curtain airbags; vehicle stability assist; antilock brakes and brake assist.

The 2014 Pilot earned "good" ratings in all Insurance Institute for Highway Safety crash tests, including the moderate overlap front crash test. In the moderate overlap front crash test, the forces in the test are similar to those that would result from a frontal offset crash between two vehicles of the same weight, each going just under 40 mph.

Competitors to the Honda Pilot include the 2014 Ford Explorer, Nissan Pathfinder and Toyota 4Runner.
