DETROIT The 2014 GMC Acadia SUV starts at $35,410, including a $925 destination charge, reflecting a $465 price increase over the 2013 model.

The 2014 Acadia is a carryover model with minor changes. It is at dealerships now.

Forward collision alert and lane-departure warning systems are now standard on Acadia Denali and optional on Acadia SLT-1 and SLT-2. The Denali model is the high-end package that adds more chrome, 20-inch machined aluminum wheels and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Also new for 2014 are two charging-only USB ports on the rear of the center console for second-row use.

Competitors to the Acadia include the 2014 Dodge Durango, Honda Pilot and Toyota Highlander.

Edmunds says: Car shoppers should expect to pay more for the popular GMC Acadia this time around.
