WASHINGTON The 2014 Dodge Charger earned the highest five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The 2014 Charger received four stars in the front crash test and five stars in side impact and rollover crash tests. The rating refers to front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions of the Charger.

The 2014 Dodge Charger SRT has not been rated by NHTSA.

The 2014 Charger received "good" ratings in all Insurance Institute for Highway Safety crash tests, including the moderate overlap front crash test. The forces in the test are similar to those that would result from a frontal offset crash between two vehicles of the same weight, each going just under 40 mph.

Standard safety equipment on the Charger includes electronic stability control, a driver's knee airbag, hill-start assist, rain brake support and ready alert braking.
