WASHINGTON — The 2014 Chrysler 200 midsize sedan earned a four-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Five stars is the highest rating.

The 2014 Chrysler 200 received four stars in front, side impact and rollover crash tests.

The 2014 Chrysler 200 is a Top Safety Pick, according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The midsize sedan earned "good" scores in IIHS crash tests and an "acceptable" score in the small overlap front crash test. That test is designed to replicate what happens when the front corner of a vehicle collides with another vehicle or an object like a tree or utility pole.

Standard safety features on the Chrysler 200 include six airbags, antilock brakes, electronic stability control and traction control.

The redesigned 2015 Chrysler 200 arrives at dealerships in the spring. It has not yet been rated by NHTSA.

The Chrysler 200 competes with the Chevrolet Malibu, Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata and Toyota Camry.
