DETROIT The base 2014 Chevrolet Equinox LS crossover starts at $25,315, including an $875 destination charge, reflecting a $230 price increase over the 2013 model.

The top-of-the-line 2014 Chevrolet Equinox LTZ starts at $32,525, including shipping.

Chrome-clad wheels are now standard equipment on LTZ models and two new exterior colors are offered on the Equinox. The new colors are Red Rock Metallic and Silver Topaz Metallic.

The 2014 Equinox is a carryover model.

The Equinox competes with the Ford Escape, Honda CR-V, Kia Sportage and Toyota RAV4, among others.

Edmunds says: The Equinox gets a modest price increase, but still remains a solid choice in the crowded small-crossover segment.
