DETROIT The 2014 Buick Verano compact sedan starts at $24,625, including a $925 destination charge, reflecting a $650 price increase over the 2013 model.

The 2014 Verano is a carryover model with some minor enhancements.

Updates include a new Smoky Gray Metallic exterior color and a standard universal home remote with three-channel programmable garage door opener on Convenience, Leather and Turbo models.

Heated front seats are now standard on those models. New options on Verano include forward collision alert and lane-departure warning systems.

In addition, iPhone users will be able to access Siri voice control through a button on the steering wheel, another new feature for 2014.

The Verano competes in a tough segment that includes the 2014 Acura ILX, Audi A3, Lexus IS 250 and Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class.
