INGOLSTADT, Germany — The special-edition 2014 Audi TTS Competition celebrates the production of 500,000 TTs.
Coupe and roadster versions of the 272-horsepower Audi TTS Competition will be produced starting in October, Audi AG said on Wednesday.
Production is limited to 500 units. Audi said the competition package will add 1,900 Euros or the U.S. equivalent of $2,516 to the price of the car.
"At this point we haven't announced bringing it to the U.S.," wrote Andrew Lipman, an Audi of America spokesman, in response to a query from Edmunds.
The TTS Competition comes in either Imola yellow or Nimbus gray exterior paint. Details include a fixed rear wing with bars in a matte aluminum-look finish and 19-inch wheels. The roadster's top is available in either black or gray.
The cabin gets Impulse leather trim in steel gray. A leather multifunction steering wheel and aluminum badges on the door trims embossed with "1 of 500" round out the package.
The special model is equipped with the 2.0-liter four-cylinder TFSI engine linked to a six-speed S tronic transmission.
"The production of the 500,000th Audi TT documents the success of the compact sports car," said Audi in a statement.
The Audi TT debuted as a coupe in 1998 and as a roadster the following year.
Edmunds says: A fitting tribute to a beloved car.
