AUBURN HILLS, Michigan — Dodge has unveiled a special-edition "392" appearance package for the 2013 Dodge Charger SRT8.
The 392 package is an aesthetic upgrade kit for the 2013 Charger SRT8, which is already loaded with a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engine that displaces 392 cubic inches.
The souped-up sedan rides on SRT brand Vapor Chrome wheels, has a two-tone hood and gets a special black roof, rear spoiler and mirrors. Side stripes with the SRT logo flank the car's sides and tie into the 392 badging on the front fender. A serialized dash plaque sits on the instrument panel of the interior, finishing off the short list of upgrades.
"It's a cool package," said Mark Trostle, head of SRT Design. "When you think of old school muscle cars, you think of black accents and this car kind of handles that in a new way. Not the whole hood is black, just a portion of it and we've done it in gloss black versus a matte black. It definitely has a presence to it."
A fitting 392 of these special-edition sport sedans will be built, and they will only be produced in Bright White, Billet Silver, Plum Crazy, Hemi Orange and TorRed.
Pricing has yet to be announced.
Edmunds says: A subtle upgrade package that separates your SRT8 from the pack.
