WASHINGTON — General Motors is recalling 367,808 2013 Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain SUVs because of a problem with the windshield wipers, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
"The ball joints in the windshield-wiper module may corrode and wear over time, possibly resulting in one or both of the windshield wipers becoming inoperative," the NHTSA said in its recall summary. "Inoperative windshield wipers may reduce the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash."
GM told federal safety regulators it has received reports of "field incidents in the U.S."
One accident and one injury are linked to the recall, GM spokesman Tom Wilkinson told Edmunds.
The remedy for the recall is still under development. A date has not been set for the recall.
