2011-'16 Dodge Charger Recalled Because Cars Can Slip off Tire Jacks

AUBURN HILLS, Michigan Fiat-Chrysler is recalling an estimated 441,578 2011-'16 Dodge Charger sedans in the U.S. because the cars can slip off tire jacks, the automaker said.

The automaker will provide owners with free wheel chocks to keep the car stable when the tire is being changed.

"Failure to follow the manual's instructions with an affected vehicle may cause the vehicle to come off the tire jack," Fiat-Chrysler said in a statement.

Three minor injuries are linked to the recall.

Affected customers will be told when they can obtain the wheel chocks from Dodge dealers. A date has not been set for the recall. Owners can contact Fiat-Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403.

No information about the recall has been posted on the website of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which oversees vehicle safety in the U.S.

Edmunds says: Owners of these cars should watch for their official recall notice and further instructions in the near future.
