"In these vehicles, the front passenger and center seatbelts might not be anchored in the correct position relative to the seat, increasing the risk of injury in a crash," said the company in a statement.
Ford said it is not aware of any accidents or injuries associated with the recall.
The affected trucks were built at Escobedo Assembly Plant from February 14, 2011 through April 28, 2015.
Due to the significant number of cab and seat configurations for these trucks, Ford said service procedures are still being developed. A date has not been set for the recall. Owners can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332.
No information about the recall has been posted on the Web site of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which oversees vehicle safety in the U.S.
Edmunds says: Owners of these trucks should keep in touch with their Ford dealers, who will have the latest service information available.
