WASHINGTON — Fiat-Chrysler is recalling 139 2001-'02 Chrysler Sebring and Dodge Stratus vehicles with beige interiors for a potential airbag problem, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
"The affected vehicles were previously repaired for a recall issue using an incorrect part," NHTSA said in its recall summary. "The incorrect part may not prevent the passenger-side sun visor from detaching if the passenger frontal airbag deploys and the passenger-side sun visor is folded down in a certain position.
"If the sun visor detaches and is propelled rearward, there is an increased risk of occupant injury."
A Fiat-Chrysler spokesman did not respond immediately to a query from Edmunds asking if there are any injuries linked to the recall.
Edmunds says: Owners of these vehicles will want to get this problem fixed as soon as they receive their official recall notice.
