Fun, but not up to the Quality of Lexus
My wife and I each have a 2006 Cadillac STS V6 because I feel strongly that I prefer to buy an American car. Unfortunately, my car has been into the shop four times to have trim pieces put back on, and there is a distracting amount of wind noise which cannot be resolved and apparently is just the way the car is. My wife's previous car, a Lexus, was whisper quiet, so we're not used to this. If GM wants owners of BMW and Lexus to go to Cadillac, they will have to do some major work on the entire way they build cars and treat their customers. I also own a BMW Z4, and having had this plus the Lexus, going down to a Cadillac has been a shock. So I'm not saying I won't get another one, but the jury's still out.
STS a real head turner!!!
I've had this for a little over 2 months now. When I got it from my dad it was kind of in rough shape. it had been sitting on a farm for 5+ years. I had to change a lot of parts underneath partly due to rust and parts not moving for so long self lubrication wasn't happening. I replaced the rear differential bushing, all 4 wheel bearings, driveshaft and couplings, New spark plugs, 2coils(cylinder 1&2) for about $2000. I recieved this car for free from my dad so the only money invested were for parts. since then it has been the best car I've owned. I have the V-6 model with RWD, leather interier with wood trim, Bose sound system and navigation, remote start, basically all the features that were offered he got. I havent had single problem since I replaced all the parts and its a smooth ride to boot, very quiet and for a V-6 the power is there, but is a little bit of a gas guzzler. Also it draws a lot of attention for its appearence constantly turning heads, and I think it looks 10x better than CTS. I honestly love this car!!!

Great car with sport luxury!
Bought the 2006 STS new in late 2005. All wheel drive was great in the New England ice and snow. Only oil changes, a battery, and tires for 67,000 miles. Good for a big 6’4” man. My 1999 Eldorado was a bit roomier, but I needed rear doors in the STS. Love driving it on the highway as it is sporting and great road feel!
STS
This is a very nice car that is fun to drive. I love the keyless entry and navigation system. Thanks GM, Cadillac is BACK.
Definitly Top Five
The Cadillac STS is possibly one of the top five sport sedans competing in this market. Its handling is superb and its ride comfort is first rate. I've had many compliments on its styling. Cadillac has built a winner.
