Six-speed automatic with console shifter with shifter-mounted button
Transmission and axle ratios (x:1)
Snarly, strong-pulling V6 could get front wheelspin with traction control off. Slow-shifting transmission, but smooth. Definitely not close-ratio gearing. Manual mode is via rocker switch on console lever. Quickest time came using manual mode, as it shifted quicker and could bring revs closer to 7,000-rpm limiter, rather than Drive's 6,500. Blips throttle on downshifts. Will hold gears at limiter.
Oddly quiet ABS. Long travel, slightly mushy pedal. Plenty of nosedive. Pulled to the right and had some rear tire lockup. First stop was 117 feet. Shortest was the sixth and final stop at 116 feet. Third stop was longest at 123 feet.
"Skid pad: The LaCrosse actually worked better in ESC-on mode because the stability control's brake application helped curb understeer. Soft suspension means lots of lean.
