Vehicle2013 BMW 3 Series 328i xDrive 4dr Sedan AWD (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 8A)
ReviewHere's to the new $40K BMW Corolla, or should they just be embarrassed to even put the BMW symbol, which is (really, was) the symbol of "fun to drive"?!
The pick-up in this car is jet-like, but that's where it ends. It handles like a Corolla. The interior is cheap and outdated, like a Corolla. This car handles like, you guessed it, a Corolla. It even has the same engine note as the Toyota Corolla. Everything about this car says "Toyota"! Except of course for the gorgeous exterior.
The ridiculous introduction of electronic-assisted steering will prove to be the beginning of the end for BMW. I don't wonder anymore why Audi is advertising "more drivers than ever are switching over from BMW"!
Best FeaturesGorgeous GPS, easy to use. In fact due to the reach once you get used to it it's easier than a touch screen. The sport seats are worth every penny; they are very supportive, thus very comfortable. After a 5 hour drive I get out and feel like I can do another ten hours of driving. No back pain, like almost all cars (not CUV's or SUV's) will undoubtedly give you after a long drive (talking from experience in LEXUS's, and Infiniti's mostly). The lower back in cars with small or no side bolsters will do most of the work in turns, even at 80mph. And, the leg extension is vital for people over 5'8".
Worst FeaturesThe new electronic assisted steering gives less feedback than a Lexus LS460. The Lexus is more BMW, and the new BMW is more Toyota. They must get rid of that steering! They should either insulate the cabin better or just create a better exhaust note. The currect sound is like a toyota. Way too many lines on the dash, it's almost dizzying. Yet the general cluster and buttons is the same as the 90's bimmers! The new parts are cheap, plasticy, and just give an overall feeling that you've just been cheated out of some otherwise well spent money.

Totally agree with the last sentence in the 'suggested improvements'. I drove a 2014 as a loaner and was not impressed. Nice looking, but felt cheap in every way...but yet the price is more than my 2011 was. They also decreased the size of the vanity mirrors...I guess they thought no one would notice. I'm keeping my 2011.Report it
