2002 BMW 3 Series Convertible 330Ci Rwd 2dr Convertible (3.0L 6cyl 5M)

Review

I recently traded in my perfectly fine 2006 Honda Civic EX coupe for this car, and I absolutely love it. I was looking for a little more fun than the Honda provided, and also something the family would enjoy. This car is all that you read about and more. It offers the perfect blend of fun, performance, and practicality. This is my first venture into BMW-land, and I'm hooked so far. I was looking for a used model with low miles, and I came across my 2002 330 CiC with just 38,400 miles and a clean Carfax. The beauty of BMWs is that they often look much younger than they actually are. I walked away with my "almost new" car for just $25k, down from $46k new. Very happy so far.

Best Features

I love the aggressive, refined stance of this car. Sports and premium packages are a must. I look for reasons to wash this car. I also love my color combo (jet black, sand interior, black top). I honestly can't decide if it looks better with the top up or down. The drive is unreal, very tight.

Worst Features

OK, yeah, the back seat is small, but I understand the trade-off. I also have some minor electrical concerns: cruise control won't turn on anymore, and the driver's side power seat motor is intermittent at times... little things I'll fix before the extended warranty runs out next year.

2002 BMW 3 Series Convertible 325Ci Rwd 2dr Convertible (2.5L 6cyl 5M)

Review

This has been a great car and one of the best I have own. For a convertible it is very practical although not very fuel economical. Overall have had very very few problems and the car always provides a great driving experience.

Best Features

Top down as often as possible, power seat options, driving experience, heated seats and colour.

Worst Features

(Small complaint) better trim quality i.e. glove box sticks and side molding coming unattached. (Big complaint) don't like the passenger side mirror tilting down when reversing, but maybe that can be reprogrammed (after all this time!).

Review

There is always something wrong with
this car. The top quit working, the
trunk lid won't catch properly, the
all-window switch broke, the auto door
locks stick, the brake rotors are wear
items(!!), the covering has worn off
the center console, the glove box
won't open. I will admit it drives
great, but I cannot accept the
constant stream of annoyances. BMW
customer care couldn't care less. I'll
NEVER own another BMW.

Best Features

It's fun to drive, even if it seems as though half of the trips are to the dealer to get it fixed. It looks really good with the top down.

Worst Features

Get the quality under control. And make the stereo controls understandable.

Review

The car is much more than I would have
expected. Souperb fit/finish. The most
precise car ever. Not Toyota
reliability but under free maintenance
and easy loaner-based service, who
cares? There is nothing like this car.
You must oown it to believe it (and I
was always skeptical about those owners
that said the same thing!)

Best Features

Precision, speed, and fun

Worst Features

I would like the 330s to be a bit quieter in the exhaust area

Review

I save this car for April to October
driving only. It has been a blast to
drive and own. Not quite the
performance of the mighty M3, but close
enough. I'd buy another one in a
minute.

Best Features

The sport, premium and cold weather packages are worth the extra money. Love those bixenons, too. Leave the radio off. Listen to the hum of that sweet in-line 6.

Worst Features

The rear passenger space is tight. My 2 kids are geting bigger. But,they're teenagers so it's a cool ride anyway.
