The 325i is the best car Ive ever
owned. It has plenty of power and drives
like a dream. The only squibble is that
its expensive to work on.I lovedriving

2001 BMW 3 Series 325xi AWD 4dr Sedan (2.5L 6cyl 5M)

Review

Bought it through euro program
(excellent option). Love to drive
this car, but quality could be
improved. It's great in the snow/ice -
better than most SUVs. Driver side
window motor failed soon after
warranty expired. Already have full
new set of brakes at 60k miles for
$1100. Love only needing oil service
every 15000. Fits family of four
quite well with good trunk space.

Best Features

all wheel drive is awesome. manual seats are comfy and provide headroom for a tall guy. upgraded stereo is good. like the xenons too. My wife likes the heated leather seats.

Worst Features

improved layout of console, better electric window quality. better cup holders in back. Vent fan also whines in 1st setting.

Review

The all-wheel drive wagon is a great
car. You don't see a ton of them on
the roads, but that's a good thing in
this day and age where everyone has the
same maroon ford expedition. It is an
absolute monster in snow and ice. The
X system teamed with the DSC's ability
to manage the anti-lock brakes one at a
time for "zero-yaw" means you go
exactly where you want to go in bad
conditions. We went all over the Alps
and US Rockies for three years in it.
Holds a lot of gear in the back, but
still looks and drives like a
performance sedan... but with really
good mileage. We've gotten ~23 city
and 30 highway. Buy one if you can
find one.

Best Features

Traction, performance, and mileage. Xenon headlights are amazing in bad conditions.

Worst Features

The 2.5 doesn't exactly scream, but it is plenty fast. Buy the Harmon Kardon optional stereo if you like "loud". I also got the 16" rims and regret it. Looks much better with 17".

Review

In the 2 years I've owned this car I've
had to replace 4 power window motors, 3
diff sensors and some temp gauge for
the A/C... thank god it's under
warranty. But the warranty expires in
Nov and I'm selling and never buying
another BMW. Way too high maintenace.
The roadside assistance guy told me
they're great in the Alps... but that's
about it.

Best Features

Fun to drive.

Worst Features

power window motors that last more than 1-2 years.

2001 BMW 3 Series 325Ci Rwd 2dr Convertible (2.5L 6cyl 5M)

Review

Bought the car for the wife, coming
off a 3 year lease @2.9%, on a BMW CPO
program. Have had to take back to
dealership twice, once to replace a
faulty intake cam sensor, and once for
some minor adjustments. Handling is
impeccable, and power is good for
184HP, but wish they would offer more
power without having to upgrade to a
330. Haven't pushed the top end, but
expect it's more than I would want.
Dealership has been fair to deal with,
but I just don't have that warm fuzzy
feeling yet. Brake dust, of course,
is an unsolveable problem.

Best Features

Dust is a curse, the brake performance is world class. Styling and fun to drive quotient are over the top. Seals and stability of the conv top make it feel like your in a hardtop. Memory seats are cool; I'm 5'11", my wife is 5'0".

Worst Features

The Germans can build a car of this quality, but they can't fix the brake dust? Gimme a break; they don't wanna fix it; they'd rather sell brake jobs instead! Need some "tweakage options" to boost acceleration.
