Used 2000 BMW 3 Series Consumer Reviews
Not exactly perfect
This car had 1/4 mile on it when I picked it up. Xeon headlights have been completely replaced 6 times. The auto-adjusting driver and passenger window hieght is newer correct, so your windows leak. Electrical system sucks. My friends 3 series behaves the same way. Don't buy the car unless you get the sports suspension and 17 inch rims. You'll hate the ride with the 15/16 inch rims.
BMW 323i
Absolutely rock-solid. No reliability issues of any kind. If I had it to do again, I would have purchased the Sport package. Otherwise no regrets.

BMW Super Fast 323i
This car really gets it. It’s an automatic 6 cylinder engine that far supersedes my expectations. It hugs the road as if it were on a light rail. For that year it has a sleek well rounded body as well as an extremely comfortable interior. I’ve had BMW’s in the past and I can honestly say this is one of the best yet. In the past BMW seemed to have issues with drink holders breaking and cheap airvents. But this is not the case with this BMW. This is a well built vehicle. All thanks to BMW.

Cost of ownership
BMW is an expensive care to maintain. My records show total costs per year to own this car is (exclusive of depreciation, gas, and insurance) averages $2,500/year starting from year two. But, what a fun car to drive!!

One of my favorite cars ive ever owned
Ive owned an Automatic and a 5 Speed manual of these with over 200k miles and i must say that these cars are mechanically reliable, sporty, luxurious, comfortable, have amazing A/C,great factory sound, these can take a beating and still run a long time, ive sat for hours with the car on in 110°+ in vegas and it didint overheat at all, parts arent that expensive anymore because they are 20+years old wich also means you can find parts at junkyards. Flaws: The annoying window regulator issue, there is always a window issue, the interior door lock mechanism stop working after a while as well and spare keys are expensive. Other than that its a great car, still 5 star worthy.

2000 323i 5-speed
Tops in the "fun-to-drive" department. Don't miss out with an automatic - the 5-speed is the only way to go. It really is the "ultimate driving machine". Perfect weight distribution, rear-wheel drive, incredible road manners and stability, silky smooth power. It exudes quality inside and out. Not "bang for the buck", but a complete automobile - performance, comfort, reliability, safety, fuel economy, superior resale value - in a word, solid. You can barnstorm the back roads, then go to dinner in quiet, understated style. No gimmicks, plastic, or excessive electronics. Drawbacks? If you need a big trunk, look elsewhere.
Sport package w/ 17" rims
Getting ready to turn in my 3yr lease vehicle and I'm not wanting to give it back! This car gave me zero problems in the 3yrs that I've driven it. This is my 2nd bimmer and will not be my last. When I first picked it up, everyone thought it was the new M3 (in '99) because of the sport package (really glad I got that option). :-)
Broke My Wallet
A maintenance nightmare. I have spent thousands fixing this car, one thing after another. I now have it working great and intend to sell it before something else goes wrong. However, it handles great on the road and is a very cool car. The looks sold me, but I should have looked beyond the outside appearance. Now I am paying for it. I should have known that BMW stands for Broke My Wallet
