Test Driver Ratings & Comments

Acceleration commentsWe got our best times by leaving the car in full automatic mode with the transmission set to "Sport" mode. Putting it in manual mode and using the shift paddles didn't help. Traction was a nonissue due to the all-wheel-drive system. With maximum torque available at 1,600 rpm, we only brake torqued the engine to 2,000 rpm before launching.
Braking ratingExcellent
Braking commentsNo ABS noise or vibration detected. Fade was not an issue, with all three panic stops ending within one foot of each other.
Handling ratingGood
Handling commentsStability control was on during slalom testing because it can't be disabled, but the car's respectable balance and high grip from the all-wheel-drive system still allowed the big sedan to get through the slalom at just over 65 mph. Skid pad testing also showed the Flying Spur to be very balanced at the limit of adhesion.
