LOS ANGELES — Stand-up comedian and ventriloquist Jeff Dunham has hooked up with Mopar to customize a 2012 Dodge Challenger SRT8 for the 2012 SEMA Show.

Dubbed "Project Ultraviolet," the customization is being revealed in a three-part Webisode on Dunham's YouTube channel.

Dunham says the engine choice is a secret at this point, but he favors purple for the exterior color.

Chrysler is having some fun with the build on its corporate blog, noting in a Wednesday posting that the ventriloquist has "more or less been tight-lipped about the whole thing."

"It's a major understatement to say I'm looking forward to the SEMA show this year," Dunham says. "We've been having some great fun with SRT and Mopar; we have an unbelievably awesome project to show off. To be finished on time will be tight, but we'll make it. This is the kind of thing you dream of being able to do as a kid. Can't wait to pull the cover off at the reveal."

In the first video, Dunham says he wants the car to have a retro feel and a six-speed manual transmission.

Edmunds says: One of the more interesting celebrity collaborations at the 2012 SEMA Show.
