LOS ANGELES — Just in time for the debut of the 2015 Nissan GT-R Nismo supercar at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show, Nissan has launched Nismo Flipboard, a suite of digital magazines designed to help fans keep up with motorsports and other Nissan performance activities.

Partnering with N4MD (pronounced "informed"), an Atlanta-based start-up tech company, Nissan's U.S. Marketing Innovation Lab developed three individual online magazines, presented in the user-friendly Flipboard digital reader, which currently has more than 90 million users worldwide.

The three magazines have distinct missions and styles. 100Rear/50Front is all about the Nissan GT-R, with articles and photos especially for enthusiasts of that unique performance model. Car Love showcases the best images of Nissan sports cars from around the Web and from Nissan's own photo library. And Nismo Performance contains stories and photos about Nissan Motorsports race teams and cars.

"We believe this approach offers a very rich, immersive customer experience that brings the Nissan, Nismo and GT-R brands to life in a way that provides readers with complete control and an easy-to-navigate interface," said Jon Brancheau, vice president of marketing for Nissan North America, in a statement. "N4MD gives us a terrific way to gather, filter and share the best Nissan performance-oriented content on the Web."

The opening page of each Flipboard magazine shows the number of readers, page flips and articles that can be found there. To be sure not to miss anything, users with Flipboard accounts can subscribe to any or all of the magazines. And a "Share" feature allows fans to post interesting stories or photos on social media sites, including Facebook and Twitter.

In addition to the Web site, there's a Flipboard app for mobile devices, including iPad, iPhone, Android, Kindle Fire and Nook. Free downloads are available from the Apple App Store, Google Play store, Windows Store and Blackberry World.

Edmunds says: Fans who can't get enough Nismo love will flip for these magazines.
