LOS ANGELES — A 2015 Chevrolet Colorado concept set for beach patrol debuted at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show.

The special Colorado "demonstrates one of the many ways the new Colorado can be accessorized," said GM.

The show truck was inspired by the West Coast. It features a yellow, red and black livery, along with a roof-mounted surfboard and rescue equipment. Chevrolet did not say if such a truck might be headed for production.

The debut of the 2015 Colorado, which takes aim at the Toyota Tacoma, was one of the most important product introductions at the show.

The Colorado features segment firsts such as optional forward collision alert and lane departure warning.

Edmunds says: This concept would have fit in perfectly on Baywatch.
