The concept is lower and wider than the production 2014 Infiniti Q50. It is described as a "design vision for high-performance products" for the upscale Nissan brand. No word yet on whether a production version of the concept is bound for showrooms.
The concept features a carbon-fiber front splitter, rear diffuser and 21-inch lightweight forged alloy wheels.
"The design has a number of distinctive Formula 1-inspired touches," said Nissan in a statement on Thursday. "In particular, the sculpted front wing assembly and the rear aerodynamic packaging take their cues from the RB9 racecar."
Infiniti did not disclose technical specifications of the Q50 Eau Rouge.
Infiniti is inviting consumers to help build buzz about the concept car ahead of its official debut on January 13. By sharing their comments through social-media channels like Twitter and Facebook, participants will build the image of the concept in a virtual garage.
