2024 Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron Premium Plus 4dr SUV AWD w/50, Prod. End 11/23 (electric DD)
Once the honeymoon is over on the early 2024 “50” model, you’ll regret your decision. The car is stunning to look at and fun to drive, however, for the price point it simply does not deliver. If I would have known I was getting VW quality with an Audi price tag, I would have simply bought an ID4 for thousands of dollars less. To start, the range does not come anywhere close to what is … advertised. This is driving in Efficiency mode, “B” mode, with Eco set on the AC. It’s fine when I’m able to charge at home, but a nightmare having to stop every hour and a half on road trips to charge for 45 minutes. Yes, 45 minutes to get to 90%. The brakes started squealing after 2k miles. The dealer claims this is “normal” due to the regenerative brake system and affects all Q4 models. When I asked if I was simply supposed to “deal with it” on a $65k+ car, their answer was basically yes and there is no plan to provide any kind of recall or repair for this known issue. The Audi MMI interface is glitchy to say the least… routinely resets wallpaper images with no explanation, the system freezes, and the e-tron route planner is practically useless. Several times it has re-routed me due to imaginary road closures and does not ever seem to suggest the best charging stops. Apple CarPlay randomly resets in the middle of navigation and phone calls. Parking assist works intermittently and does not always beep, I’ve nearly hit something several times when mistakenly thinking I could rely on the park assist. Unfortunately, all of these technological and electrical gremlins don’t ever seem to duplicate themselves when I attempt to have the dealer investigate, so not much they can or will do. Fit and finish is poor. Condensation entered the real taillights after a car wash, and the panel gaps are significant enough that when you wash it every if you dry it very thoroughly you’ll have water spots every where after a short drive. The weatherstripping on one of the rear door seals is coming off due to some very weak double sided tape that was used to secure it to the body of the car. Wind noise is prevalent despite the acoustic front glass and windshield. I have owned this car for 3 whole months and driven about 4k miles. It’s still brand new. Thank goodness it’s a lease! Save yourself the disappointment and frustration in the Q4. There are much better options out there which come in well below the Audi price tag.

I honestly had high hopes for this vehicle. I have the sportback and while the exterior is beautiful…. I continue to be amazed at how cheaply built the interior is. The sticker price for my vehicle was well over 60k and it’s just plastic everywhere. Everywhere you look just hard black plastic with one small piece of black wood on the dash. The tech in this car is infuriating. Why does … the vehicle take over my phone every time I get into the car. Sending an email? Boom up pops the Audi App and you’ve messed up your email, text, whatever you were doing. It also opens itself up randomly at other times as well. Annoyingly, it seems like wireless CarPlay won’t start until it goes through this process…. Which can happen minutes after you’ve started the vehicle and then good luck actually getting in connected. Nearly everything that is touch related in this vehicle has a mind of its own, sometimes the buttons on the steering wheel don’t work. Sometimes you can’t click anything on the screen, sometimes nothing works and all of a sudden your car just goes silent. My car actually puts itself into park sometimes when it comes to a complete stop. If you unplug your seatbelt and are just hanging out in the car, the car assumes you’re leaving and decided you don’t need half of the touch buttons anymore. After taking delivery of the vehicle I had an intermittent issue with my sunroof opening and then refusing to close… caused by guess what? An issue with the touch sensitive button. Now… about the visibility out of this vehicle. Frontward visibility is great but out the side, holy eff is it terrible. The windows are very small, and why did someone decide to mount massive side view mirrors blocking the small window you use to judge a turn. The result? I have taken very wide turns because you have almost zero ability to judge where you are in this vehicle. It can actually be pretty scary in a parking lot too, as sometimes you can completely miss a pedestrian crossing because you can’t really see at 45* angle. Parking also sucks in this vehicle unless you’re backing in. The high windows and lack of 360* camera can make it actually impossible to judge whether you’re perfectly lined up in the spot. The car is fine to drive and is much quieter than my husbands Merc EQE suv. It looks really nice and people actually do compliment the vehicle sometime. The charging is horrendous. The car has the ability to max out at well over 150kw charging, but I have never once broken 70 kw. I’ll use the same charger as my husband who will pull 160 on the same charger, so I know it’s not an issue with the charger itself. Be prepared for very long charge times if on the road. I was cross shopping this with a Genesis GV60 and not a single drive goes by that I don’t wish I got that vehicle instead. So that will be 1095 wishes for a different vehicle by the time this lease is done. Save yourself the headache and disappointment. It looks like an Audi on the outside, but it’s lacking features like a 360 cam and ventilated seats that even that VW ID4 has and looks and feels like a VW on the inside.

Love the looks had 3 compliments on the way home from the dealer. Smooth all you would expect from an Audi. Miss that driver side glove compartment and the mesh sunroof cover. The mesh acts a a sunblock but lets in air
