Nice car with issues

The 2007 model had transmission issues, according to one mechanic I visited, and we had to replace our transmission TWICE. The first time, we split the cost with the dealership, and the 2nd time was such an embarrassment that the dealership replaced it for free. The car is expensive to repair as you might expect. Gas mileage in the city is 15 and on the highway is 26 which is pathetic in 2019 when global warming looms large, but it makes more sense to hold it than sell it and buy another. The car is nice, as described elsewhere, and if the tranny hadn't blown twice, I would give it an excellent review. Much more thoughtfully designed than most cars, as well as any of the newer Audi models that we have driven as loaner cars (A3, Q5). We have better value keeping the old car than trading for a newer model. And honestly gear heads, who in the world really needs to go faster than 100 mph with a sedan? We have highways, not autobahns. Audi needs to wake up and get an electric vehicle out there.

I have been leasing Audi A4's for 13 year. This car is a major problem. I only have 25,000 miles on the car in less than 3 years. So far the master switch for the windows and the cruise control needed replacement. It burns oil. The reminder light came on 10 months after an oil change. Now it comes on after 5 months. I was thinking about buying the car after lease. No Way Now. The warranty is limited. When it runs out I'll be stuck with all the big maintenance bills. I am going to put this car back on Audi and find a good used BMW 3 series.

Beware of Oil Consumption

This is a great car, in principle. Fun to drive, decent gas mileage, great design and quality of workmanship - all what you would expect. What one would not expect is the oil consumption: the 2007 A4 2.0T engine's "normal" oil consumption is one quart every 1200 miles. Yes 1,200, not 12,000. I have had my car in the shop multiple times for this but Audi claims this is normal. They register my concern, find some faulty engine parts they replace but then send me on my way without fixing anything. So if you buy this car, be ready to drive around with a case of oil in the trunk.

This A4 is my second Audi (first was a 1997 A4). Audi has definitely stepped up their game. I drive a lot and am currently at 53,000 miles and have not had 1 problem. Consistent 31 MPG even with driving at 80 MPH. Highly recommended!

My New Audi 2007 A4 2.0T Review

I really have a hard time describing to non-Audi Quattro drivers, the experience of Audi Quattro. In the wet, snow and ice this all wheel drive saves you in so many situations, and this system does this in a manner in which the driver has no clue - it just works. This is not four wheel drive, as I have often heard the neophyte describe controlled power to four wheels. On dry pavement, this is total smart control - Quattro is an all wheel computer controlled drive, perfected over 25 years and banned on many race circuits because of it's dominant superiority. With seamless traction, like a Cheetah coupled with an engine that is FSI turbocharged and inter-cooled race bred in an everyday spo
