Falling Apart
Loved the car when I bought it but friends warned me to get rid of an Audi after 50k miles. How true! The door handle latch broke recently and then the water pump seized and left me stranded on the highway. Suggest that future prospects think hard about status vs. reliability. Me? I'm buying another Subaru. They DON'T fall apart.
Shhhh...Great Car
This is a great handling car! Ya really do look at curvy roads and smile just like a commercial. Passing acceleration is a delight. Sometimes ya just pass because it’s fun! Fit and finish are typical German solid. Bose radio is fantastic. Sounds great at any volume, weather it’s heavy metal or smooth jazz. I love the little things that car salesmen never talk about like windshield wipers that slow down when the car does. You’re going to love this car a little more every time you drive it.

Great car
I have driven this 5 speed 2.8 Quatro A4 for almost two years. I love to drive it. It is a very solid car with excellent handling and responsive brakes. The only negatives I've found so far is the lack of room in the back seat and some maintenance. I did have to have some major work done on the cam and tensioner seals and the rear drive seals. These were covered in my extended warranty. It did take a week to get the parts and have them installed. This was a minor inconvenience to me.
Not as good as they say
Most things with this vehicle are good, but the bad things are very annoying. Tiptronic which shifts too soon and can't make up its mind what gear to be in. Brake pads which bind in their seats. Brake discs warping. Unfortunately, it is a blast to drive.
Not as bad as some say!
I purchased my Audi A4 with 55,000 miles and it now has 74,000 miles. I've replaced brake pads, water pump, timing belt w/tensioner, t. pulley, idler pulley, drive belt, front diff. axle seal, wires and plugs, and oil. Although this would have cost alot at a dealer, I purchased the parts online and replaced them myself. If your a decent mechanic or have alot of $$$, I'd highly recomend this vehicle. The 2.8 is a little under powered w/Tiptronic trans., but nothing beats the Quattro in the Michigan winter!
