2024 Acura ZDX 4dr SUV AWD w/A-Spec Package (electric DD)
I received my 2024 Acura ZDX A-Spec on August 6, of 2024. I love how the car looks, how it drives and handles, and the red interior is super nice and comfortable, but that’s about it. After only 17 days of owning it, the vehicle left me, my wife and 2 month old son stranded in the middle of the road after losing power on a casual drive home from dinner. I had 64% of charge when the … incident happened. After hearing a weird noise coming from the rear end of the car, the vehicle started slowing down abruptly and a whole bunch of lights popped up on my dash. The car wouldn’t go on drive or reverse, only neutral or park, so I had to put the car on neutral and push it to the side on the road. I was very upset at what happened. Honda Roadside came and towed the vehicle to the dealership and me and my family had to take an Uber home. After 3 days of the car being at the dealership, the service rep calls me and tells me that the codes were cleared and a system update was performed and they will test drive the car to make sure everything was good before I pick it up. A week passed and I didn’t hear back from the dealership, so I started to wonder what was going on and called them up. When I got a hold of the service rep, I was told that while the Acura tech was on a test drive , the same thing that happened to me, happened to him and they had to tow the car back to the dealership. After it happened to the technician, Acura did a more thorough check on the vehicle and determined that it needed the high voltage battery replaced, and they didn’t have an eta on when the car will be ready since it’s a brand new car and that part is limited. The car only has 1,527 miles and was only driven for 17 days and I’m already dealing with all of this. The car has already been at the dealership for 3 weeks and no signs of when I’ll get it back. I’ve been driving the loaner vehicle longer than I’ve had my ZDX. Fair to say I’ve lost all confidence in this vehicle and honestly don’t even want it anymore. I never write reviews like this, but I’ve owned plenty of car in my life and have never had any issues like this with a brand new vehicle. Hopefully my experience is a rare occurrence, because I wouldn’t want anyone else going through this with a brand new car.
