Capitalizes on User-Generated Video Trend

SANTA MONICA, Calif. — October 30, 2006 — CarSpace, Edmunds' popular automotive social networking Web site, today launched CarSpace Videos (www.carspace.com/videos/), a new video publishing resource that allows people to easily post automotive videos online in a unique, car-focused environment.

"Video is just one of many new features being added to CarSpace that make it the Web's most compelling and entertaining automotive social networking experience," said Sylvia Marino, Executive Director of CarSpace. "People can quickly and easily upload an unlimited number of videos from all types of devices — digital cameras, camcorders, webcams and mobile phones — and have their videos playing in only a few clicks even if they've never posted a video online before, thanks to VideoEgg's back-end support of our video network."

CarSpace anticipates that visitors will post video car reviews, footage from local car club events and auto shows, mainstream and homemade car commercials, how-to videos for automotive repairs and accessorization, as well as compelling and humorous automotive recreation videos from road trips and other adventures.

Videos on CarSpace are easy to post, rate, search and embed elsewhere on the Internet including on blogs. Users can also share their favorite videos from the popular video-sharing site YouTube and other sites.

CarSpace visitors are encouraged to comment on the videos and save their favorite clips. They also can search for specific videos and browse the ones that receive the most comments, the most viewers and the highest viewer ratings.
