Looking at the Costco program as well. It is not a lease as I understand it. It is employee pricing less $500 and a $500 Costco card. This looks like it amounts to about a $3,500 savings off MSRP. MSRP for a 2010 3.2 AWD with lots of options was $40,750 and they quoted just over $37k. With the safe + sound, this looks like a good deal compared to the other cars in class. I ... Read More...

Hi, mpmoore. I totally empathize with you on the hassles you've had. There's no excuse for that. As for being owed "$10,000 in lost and unreliable use", only you know the true value of that. However, your reasoning on the trade-in value escapes me. You say you paid "well north of $50K" for your 2004 XC90 T6. When you traded it in, you say you "received $7,500 in trade ... Read More...

Hi HJH22, I just bought out my '08 XC90 from Volvo finance. It was 2 years old with 21K miles First off Volvo finance will only give you the buy-out price to the dealer. So you have to go through a dealer. Second expect to pay the buy-out price in your lease. Back when gas prices were over $4 the buttom fell out of SUV prices and you could get offers $4,000 below buy-out ... Read More...

It would help to know where you are. My car was serviced at NorthPoint Volvo, Roswell, GA. After my outrage at having to have the transmission replaced at under 60,000 miles (over $5,000), they called Volvo and Volvo picked up 75% of the cost of the new one. For what it is worth, I tried to buy a 2009 XC90 for about a month during August/September. The dealers have very few XC90's for sale and were refusing to go much below LIST price. I contacted ALL Volvo dealers in a 15 state area and most have no XC90 to sell. Those that do have an XC90 to sell are looking for list price and not negotiating at all. I've decided to wait and ... So we made our way into the dealership today. I blame it on the cold I've got, but after I got home I don't think I have the complete story on my final price. Basically they took close to invoice and subtracted the $1500 loyalty(since I owned a Volvo up until last month) and the $500 M2D rebate and came back with $1750 below the invoice price; came out to just over $35k. ...
