Re: Need advice to get this car at a decent lease price [mmgoodkitty]
Well you would be paying about 5.52 percent and the residual for me would be a deal breaker. True the discount offsets some of that but still payments are way too high for a 42K car. Unfortunately Volvo can't afford to subsidize or inflate residuals because they got burned on some the leases in 2006-2008 that had overinflated residuals and near zero financing. ... Read More...
Volvo XC90 Entertainment System Questions
2008 XC90 DVD Entertainment Question
I have a 2008 Volvo XC90 with the DVD Entertainment in each headrest (from the factory). It's frustrating to me because my 20 month olds don't want to wear headphones, nor do I really want them to. The only way I've been able to find to play through the car stereo is through the FM modulator, which sounds like crap. I called the Volvo dealership where I bought the car ... Read More...
Re: Purchase at End of Lease [hjh22]
Hi HJH22, I just bought out my '08 XC90 from Volvo finance. It was 2 years old with 21K miles First off Volvo finance will only give you the buy-out price to the dealer. So you have to go through a dealer. Second expect to pay the buy-out price in your lease. Back when gas prices were over $4 the buttom fell out of SUV prices and you could get offers $4,000 below buy-out ... Read More...
Purchase at End of Lease
My 2008 Xc90 (6 cyl) with DVD and third row, lease is up in December and we are thinking of buying the car. My purchase price is 30,000 and I'll have about 23,000 miles on it. Looking back at past posts it looks like there is currently little leeway on getting the purchase price reduced. Figuring I had nothing to lose, I called Volvo Finance and the person I talked to ... Re: Volvo XC90 Sept 2009 Lease Incentives & Terms [goucla]
For apple to apple comparisons, I do not include sales tax. I also metioned $0 down; not sure if the lease deal has the same term. The cost of ownership really depends on what type of maintenance I choose. The local mainekee can perform the basic tire rotation and oil changes inexpensively. Based on these examples were are at a point where a CPO buy and a new lease might ... Read More...
Re: XC90 lease [onc]
ONC - What dealership did you get that deal from? That sounds like an amazing deal. I'm getting ready to turn in my 2008 volvo now off a 2year lease that I had through volvo (21K) - residaul is only 27,300, but if i can get a brand new Volvo on a 4 year lease for 510 a month it sounds like a no brainer - especially with the maintenance and wear and tear included. I had the basic ... Read More...
Re: Residuals... [kyfdx]
I wish I could get a deal buying out my lease... Volvo Finance did a pretty good job getting my residual right two years ago. All the 20000 mile 2008 XC90s like mine are right around $28K, and that is exactly what my buy out is. I doubt they will be willing to negotiate very much. Read More...
Re: 3 year residual, Money Factor & Bank [volvomax]
36% is BS!!!!!!!!!! I WON'T be a returning Volvo customer. Even with the $33.3K deal I worked out; that's $200 over invoice, less $8K in incentives, with that money factor and residual it is still about $625 / month. $125 more than I paid for my 2008 XC90. I'll wait three years and buy the XC90 used for $15K. As a matter of fact, in a year or so, i'll just fine someone on ... Read More...
Metal Window Trim Haze / Spots
Metal Window Trim Haze / Spots
Help! Does anyone know the best way to remove the white milky film / haze from the metal trim around the exterior of the windows? From what I understand it is oxidation. I cleaned the car (Volvo XC90 2008) all day and it is looking great except that metal trim. I noticed from a couple of blogs that this occurs on some other makes / models, but did not locate any specific ... Read More...
Re: 2008 XC90 Lease Buy-out [zamo]
Just like a stock, the cars value was oversold. It just got too cheap too fast. Market is correcting itself now. Generally speaking during recessionary times used car sales go up. People who need cars are less comfortable spending NC money. With Volvo's(and other lux brands) CPO program buying used can be very beneficial. Read More...
