XC90 Base
Written by: oklahoma29 on Feb 3, 2010 9:24:48 PM
I just want to thank all the people on this board for helping me decide if I should buy a Volvo. There are some fantastic posts that really helped me. I hope my post can help someone. I have been looking for an XC90 for months. I decided to purchase new since the certified 2008s with leather and sunroof are nearly the same price as new base models (after negotiating). I ... Just picked up a 2008 XC90 3.2 AWD w/ Premium and Climate packages, 19.5K miles and CPO for $30.2K. THere are many 2008s on the lots right now due to the 2008 lease special that Volvo ran in 2008. I think this is a good time to shop for XC 90s

I purchased the same model from the same salesperson at 128 and was told the same info about certification. And there was no negotiating on the certification cost. For the xc90, I found 128's prices to be the best, even though the advertised price that led me there turned out to be an error (and I believe it was an honest mistake). The deciding factor for the certification (instead of a ... Read More

The 2008s had a 4/50K warranty. The 5/60 is a special this year. You cannot combine a CPO warranty (6/100K from original service date) with the factory. Call Volvo.com or search their site. I would stick with one that is a CPO just in case something goes wrong. You may want to check out a new one instead. I started looking at 08 CPOs and turns out I only paid 3-4K ... Read More

2008 Volvo XC90 Pre-Owned Questions
Written by: mr42810 on Dec 21, 2009 1:29:46 PM
Hello, I'm in the market for a 2008 XC90 AWD. I'm located in the Boston area and shopping at Boston Volvo and 128 Volvo. Both dealerships have a decent inventory to choose from and most vehicles are just off lease. I'm wondering how much negotiating room there is from the dealer's listed selling price? Also, I'm looking to make a purchase in the next few weeks. Is it worth it for ... Read More

2008 XC90 Warranty
Written by: kclemente1 on Feb 20, 2010 4:53:29 PM
Please clear up conflicting information I am getting from two different dealerships. One (a volvo dealer) claims the 2008 XC90 I am looking to purchase will have the remaining warranty of 5yrs/60,000 miles. This is separate from the CPO warranty that is offered. Another dealer (a no-haggle car superstore) claims that the 2008 only comes with a 4yr/40,000 powertrain warranty. Who is right? Thank you very much for any help.

Volvo XC90 lease question
Written by: maleaser58 on Feb 8, 2010 9:31:42 AM
Anybody know the February money factor and residuals for the 2010 xc90 3.2 AWD with climate 12k per year? My lease expires April 1st and am trying to figure out if i should take advantage of any deals before then. I am also over on my mileage on my 2008 lease of the same vehicle. These salesmen are also pushing US Bank heavily vs. Volvo Credit. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Hi HJH22, I just bought out my '08 XC90 from Volvo finance. It was 2 years old with 21K miles First off Volvo finance will only give you the buy-out price to the dealer. So you have to go through a dealer. Second expect to pay the buy-out price in your lease. Back when gas prices were over $4 the buttom fell out of SUV prices and you could get offers ... Read More

I wish I could get a deal buying out my lease... Volvo Finance did a pretty good job getting my residual right two years ago. All the 20000 mile 2008 XC90s like mine are right around $28K, and that is exactly what my buy out is. I doubt they will be willing to negotiate very much.

36% is BS!!!!!!!!!! I WON'T be a returning Volvo customer. Even with the $33.3K deal I worked out; that's $200 over invoice, less $8K in incentives, with that money factor and residual it is still about $625 / month. $125 more than I paid for my 2008 XC90. I'll wait three years and buy the XC90 used for $15K. As a matter of fact, in a year or so, i'll just ... Read More

Just like a stock, the cars value was oversold. It just got too cheap too fast. Market is correcting itself now. Generally speaking during recessionary times used car sales go up. People who need cars are less comfortable spending NC money. With Volvo's(and other lux brands) CPO program buying used can be very beneficial.

It's also 3am so that might be an issue too ;) Anyone know if Volvo changed their tune this month with m.f. or anything else to motivate us? Cheers!

An m.f. of .00252 is absolutely NOT competitive. I leased my XC90 this time of year when the '07's were released and received a .00077 m.f. for a new model. That is what swung my decision in favor of hte Volvo over the Mercedes, Audi, BMW, and Acura.

Mentioned waiting for the 2009s for better residuals (oh yes, those weren't good either) but how are they going to move the 08s with numbers like these?
