Add me to the list - I have to replace the transmission in my 2004 XC90 T6 AWD. I only have 69,000 miles on my SUV and have had all of my maintenance performed at the Volvo dealership. Volvo offered to pay a portion of the cost but I think they should pay for all of it. I've copied the emails I have traded with Corporate and CANNOT believe that they said there would be no more ... Error correction. For the 2004 XC90 FWD the alternate tire size in the 18" wheel is 235/60-18 (diameter 29.1") and not 235/55-18 (this would be diameter 28.2"). See TireRack. In a 55 series tire, 255/55-18 is required to give the same 29" dia at the tread as 235/65-17 and 235/60-18. If Volvo doesn't list 255 mm wide tires as an OE choice this could indicate that 255 ... I live in Anchorage Alaska. I own a 2004 Volvo XC90. I have 46,000 miles on my vehicle (6 months using Nokian Hakapalitta's studded tires, 6 months of michelin Pilots that came with the car, over the course of 46,000 miles). Just leased a 2008 XC90 3.2 with 7 passenger / blis / 48 months/48k miles - $2000 down (includes all costs & first payment) and $441/month. Residual is $12,948 MSRP was $45k. Where do I begin? I own a 2004 XC90 T6 AWD with 61K miles on it which I purchased brand new of the show room floor. The thought was to own it "for life", not so sure anymore. The local dealer told me that the seal is not available as a separate part. The entire cap is $31 and change plus tax. But the dealer was out of stock so maybe the caps go bad regularly. It looks to me like the seal would come out easily and you could use some silicone grease in a small foil pak, usually sold to coat the insides of spark plug wire boots. Buy or beg some. It ... There is an independent garage in Dallas (Southwest Auto) which specializes in Volvo and you could possibly have them advise an independent garage in Hawaii, or advise you. I have used them and the nearby dealer, and they are both good. When our Volvos were still in warranty I have gone to the dealer, but I used Southwest for repairs on a 1996 850 (855) wagon. The ... As an update to my issues with my 2004 AWD 2.5T, turns out the main electronics control module was bad. At the same time the front seat motor stopped moving fwd or backwards. Together it would have cost nearly $2k but with minor complaints on my part, Volvo picked up more than half the cost and it 'only' cost me $800.
