hi I bought a volvo 2003 and it has 52000 miles on it now and the tranny needs to be replaced.I don't know who to contact for help,we just moved to damascus pa and volvo wants 5700.00 to replace the tranny.I have been driving volvos for the past 10 years and have been happy.Is there someone to contact for help.I am so lost on what to do,with a new baby and new job we can't ... Hi lookingtohelp. I have question, who are you to say that there is no reason to join a class action suit for 2003-2005 XC90 T6 transmission? If I were you, I'd help Volvo explain their GOODWILL to the judge and the owners who got shafted by this bad engine/transmission match. Hello All, There is no reason to join a class action law suit for 2003 - 2005 XC90 T6 Transmissions. Volvo will cover these 100% up to 100,000 miles! This is more than generous! Jeremy, I am sorry to hear that you have joined the club. Volvo has sworn over-and-over that the transmission problem was limited to the 2003 through 2005 models. They send they re-designed them and stopped getting them from GM in 2005. I guess not, now that the 2006's are getting up in years and mileage. I am reading this forum today. I am to pick up my Volvo XC90. First time, a service and diagnostic ($450) but told them I was having problem with it not going in gear after a stop. After picking it up, the red ! light kept continued coming on when I got it back. When I would go to pass or pull out, it would not "go" and it was stuck in gear. then it would roar forward. We have a 2003 XC90 T6. One of the first off the boat, December 2002, I believe it was the 2nd boat with XC90s (the 3rd sank in the English Channel). The first tranny went around 36K, slipping gears, slow shifts, etc. Replaced with a rebuilt, since that is all that is available, luckily under the Volvo warranty. I am not sure if anyone would care, but I just found out that the 2003 Volvo XC90 is acceptable for the "Cash for Clunkers" incentive. Please do not take offense to this as I know that there are people that do not agree with this program but for me, it's a way out to dump this crappy car that I so regret purchasing just 8 months ago!
