I just bought a 2006 XC70 with 130,000. I didn't detect the hard shifting transmission unti the day I bought it, because I never drove it long enough to get the trans fluid warm enough. After only 750 miles it seems to be getting worse. It seems like you were able to get several more miles from your transmissions. Since this hard shifting characteristic show up so early (low miles) in ... Read More
I have experience with 3 volvos, two purchased new which I still have - 2006 xc70 and 2002 s60. I used to have a 2004 xc70 which I bought a year old. All were automatic trans. Overall I have been very pleased with them but the trans in all 3 had quirks: 2004 xc70 - car had a tendency to shift gears somewhat harshly, not a smooth transition. purchased used with ... Ron, I would like to compare notes about our experiences with Toyota of Wilmington as soon as possible. FYI: Volvo warranty person at Parkway said the CPO does not transfer. Do a Google search for "benzidine lawsuits nc" for my info. I'll be in the office tomorrow. (My wife and I looked at that same 2006 V70 over at Parkway, ironically.) Tom
Of course, if you don't want a new car, then purchasing a used vehicle will always be less expensive than either buying new or leasing new. Actually...leasing is so cheap right now, used cars are even more expensive! A used 2006 or 2005 XC70 with similar features and low miles is in the $30-$35K range. We got a brand new leased one for $30K! I know this is not normal....but Volvo ... Read More
Hello, Great site. Lots of good info. I am looking at getting out of my 2006 Saab 9-3 lease and into a Volvo XC70 lease. My lease ends 12/31/06. It is a 24 month lease, 25,000 miles per year, so I have 7 payments left of $745.41 per month with a total of $4969.37 left. I just spoke to a local dealer and here is what the lease would be without ... Read More
Greetings msmcdon. Unfortunately, Volvo is no longer providing lease support on 2006 models. As a result, if you really want to lease one you would probably better off going through an independent bank. When negotiating your deal on this vehicle, make sure to take advantage of the $5,250 cash incentive that is currently available on it. If I was in the market for an '06 XC70, I personally would want to ... Read More
We bought a new 2006 XC70 with Premium, Convenience, Climate and Sirius for 33.7k at Topping Volvo in Olympia, Washington. They came in under everyone else in the Seattle area by almost $2000. Everything other than delivery was taken care of via email or the phone. The internet guys at Topping made this an excellent buying experience.
So if a 2006 XC70 with Convenience Package, Premium Package, and Climate Package is MSRP of $42.6K and an invoice of $39.6K with a TMV of $36.5 how come the reduction isn't a little bit more with the current rebates and incentives? Cash to Customer $2000 Cash to Dealer $3250 Cash to Dealer of $1000 (for previous owners of Volvos) and an extra Cash to Dealer of $500 for financing through ... Read More
I;d be happy to help you out, sweeney4. This car's lease program varies depending upon how long you lease it for and how many miles per year you need to be able to drive it. For now I will assume that you are interested in a 36 month lease with 15,000 miles per year. These are very common parameters. Let me know if you want something different. Volvo Finance's current buy ... Read More

We're looking at a 2004 XC70 AWD 2.5T, fully loaded, 21K miles from a non-Volvo dealer in Columbus, OH. The car appears to be in immaculate shape and is pending an independent inspection. They are asking $27,990. Does anyone think this is isn't a good deal? We think it is, but we don't have the certified preowned 6y/100K warranty. We are also looking at some service loaners and low mileage used ... Read More
We are considering buying one of these 2 vehicles. This would be the first Volvo for us. Can any of you "seasoned" Volvo owners offer any advice on which one would be the best buy? We live in NC and don't really need the AWD of the XC70 but we like the sportier look. The current Volvo dealer incentives would make the XC70 the better buy because the incentives are higher ... I bought a 2006 XC70 last week in Fairfax, VV for $32,700 (plus $695 freight). Premium, climate, booster seats and metallic paint. Maybe they can match this price. I found it online at Fairfax Volvo. I love it so far.
Just put a deposit down on a 2006 XC70 with the following equipment: Lava Sand Met. I guess they are pushing out the 2005s to make room for the 2006s. Prices look lower than I have ever seen them for the xc70 and the s80.
