Hi, it could be the differential = have you check the fluids? Or the exhaust rubbing against the upper body? That's where I would look. Failing that put the car on a hoist and check the drive shaft, uni joint and check for side movement of the rear wheels. Good luck. p.s. how did you know to use Mobile ATF 3309? are you confident this is the same as the Volvo fluid? I have a 2001 V70 and I am told the Mobile JWS 3309 is required, and even then, I'm reading that its not 100% synthetic - its a blend. ugh! I'm confused.... the discussion you referenced seems to be talking about engine oil. I was referring to transnmission fluid. Does anyone know if the Mobile JWS 3309 is synthetic transmission fluid that is compatable with Volvo V70 2001 2.4L? I can't believe the price the Dealer is asking $210 just for the fluid!! I have a 2001 v70 2.4T wagon. It consistently had a weird lurching problem after a took my foot off the brake at a stop sign. Recently had 2 separate software upgrades done (adaptive road + tranny) and the problem went away. Hi, A year ago I put in a new rebuilt transmission. I have filed a complaint with Volvo of North America ( no ownership of the problem) I also filed a complaint with the Attorney Generals office stating there needs to be a recall on the failed transmissions. Just over 89K miles on a 2001 V70 and need a new transmission. Gotta' love that. I have never gotten rid of a car with less than 150K miles on it and have never replaced a transmission. Unbelievable. hah, gas cap? :) i'm just laughing because a week ago I arrived at the pump, stepped out of the car, walked around, wanted to open gas cap lid and the whole plate broke off!
