you may have to change your transmission fluid I also have a 2000 S70 running Mobil 3309 for trans fluid. You have to run this type or the dealer fluid at $18.00 a quart. The Mobil 3309 is only $4.50 a quart but you have to buy it directly from Mobil. They will ship it out to you. I think its $55.00 for a case of 12 right now. Hello there, i drive a 2000 Volvo S70, every morning i warm up the car for a couple of minutes before i go, i have noticed this noise every time i start sounds like a loud CLACKK!!, i think this happens when the automatic transmition shifts to 2nd gear, this happens only once in the mornings, during the day i dont hear this noise any more . the car runs perfect, Any ideas? ... Most likely cause of problem is a bad ABS control module. I have two 2000 S70 GLT/SEs and both have experienced this problem after 100,000 miles. Dealer repair can be $700-1000. New Volvo part alone is $450-900. If this is the problem, bypass the dealer and do the repair yourself for about $100. Rebuilt ABS modules are available for much less, and they are usually ... i bought a head gasket set for my 2000 volvo s70 glt. i took it all down. but i notice that everything in the gasket kit. was the same. but the head gasket was a lil diffrent. but it fit. i put everyting back together and i have no compression and it want start just spins over and it sounds like its not in time please help. jonasrb, sorry to hear you have experienced this problem as well. Sad to sit in a parking lot in such a nice car cranking away with no results. It boggles me that the dealer cannot permanently fix this as so many others have complained of the same problem. Regarding 2000 Volvo S70 "No Start" problem. I have the same issue. I purchased car in 2002. Only had 10000 miles. Now have 45000. I've been to dealer 5 or more time for this problem. They seem to feel it is a problem with the antitheft system...the disabler. They've changed the antenna and cut new keys. Seems to go away for a while then begins again. You can tell it ... Has anyone had the unfortunate experience of facing the fact that they may have acquired a lemon car and then be faced with what to do about it. Though the dealer acknowledges the car's problem, it seems the dealer (Volvo tech) cannot duplicate the problem consistently enough for them to trace its exact origin.
