After driving a BMW 530 anything would be a step down but my T5 is great!
Not punishing on our crumbling roads as my BMW 3 series loaners were via low profile tires.
Yet it's not like steering a boat as with most Volvo's.
Front torque steer is almost nil.
Comfort is great and interior seems more spacious than BMW 3's or Lexus IS.
Both of which will bleed you dry with tire prices!
Interior looks high quality.
A little more road noise than I expected but not intrusive. Base stereo speakers are disappointing. Cursor on wheel is too easy to accidentally change stations when turning.
Center console easy to scratch. My T5 S60 base model DOES have auto-on/off headlights! Great price, style.
Auto down rear seat headrests, comfortable high quality fabric seats you could mistake for leather at a glance.
Relatively quiet ride (a little tire/road noise).
Not forced into expensive 18" tires as with BMW or Lexus.
No expensive run-flat tires to replace.
An actual spare tire!!!
Large feeling interior (at least in the front) with high interior roof for a more spacious feeling.
No squeaks so far and good fit and finish (had mine since July).
Terrific 50k warranty with free maint. and oil changes.
Good resale value.
Sporty and clean, modern exterior styling. Premium fuel NOT required!
Base model speakers cant keep up with power of amplifier (easy upgrade).
Cursor on wheel too easily scrolled by accident changing stations.
A bit more tire/road noise than expected.
Wish glass had a bit of factory tint.
Center console too easy to scratch.
Cramped backseat complaints seem silly if you are looking at a vehicle this size.
Rear seats are not for long distance passengers but if you needed more room then this class vehicle is not for you. Mine has on/off button for fog lights (which lights up when on) but no fog lights!
The fog light button is for the rear fog light.
It lights up the drivers side rear tail light brighter than the passangers side so it does not appear as if you are braking but you are more visible to the drivers behind you.
Say during a snow storm...preventive saftey!
Have had the S60 for about 5 months now.
I agree with all of your comments.
I love the seats and the acceleration, even in the T5.
Tourque steer is minimal, as indicated.
You right on about the dial on the steering wheel. I am constantly hitting by accident.
This should be changed.
The fact that you can't change bands on the steering wheel also drives me crazy.
The radio, in general needs improvement.
The delay when changing channels and the sound need some refining.
Love just about everything else about the car, including better than average mileage on regular gas.
