Would appreciate feedback on how good a deal I have been offered on a 48 month lease of a 2012 Volvo S60 (T5) with a premium package, climate control and metalic paint, and 12,000 miles per year. The dealer is in the Delaware Valley area. My upfront payment would be $1,553 with 48 monthly payments of $412. I am turning in a 2008 Volvo S 60 which is coming off of ... Read More
No, it takes one day to install the back-up sensors. I live in Cincinnati, the purchasing dealer (where I also purchased the sensors from, and incorporated them into the lease now that they can be capitalized) is in Columbus. 100 miles separate these cities. I travel EVERY Saturday to Columbus. The arrangement was this -- drop off the car, pick up the loaner, then pick up the car the following Saturday. ... Read More
I stopped into the local Volvo dealer (Volvo of Nashville) and noticed a glut of 2006 S60 2.5T FWD models and I was wondering how much I should be paying for one if I decided to buy. Here's an example: 2006 Volvo S60 2.5T FWD $17,900 25,548 miles Willow Green Metallic What would be reasonable for the car? I was thinking somewhere in the $15,500-$16,500 neighborhood... The dealer has several other ... Read More
You should always try to negotiate a lower price...unless you're dealing with a "no-haggle" dealership, the asking price is only a starting point! Most of the pricing guides value the car at close to $23k, but I'd start at $21,500 and wouldn't pay more than $22k for it! Usually, I'm not a big fan of former fleet cars (especially rentals), but this might be an exception to the rule. I know ... Read More
My wife is looking to trade up from her Mini to an S60 or S40. Asking price is $22,995. The Carfax is clean & ... Read More
I see a lot of messages regarding the purchase of a Volvo S60 so I thought I'd post my info. In Jan 2008, I purchased a demo 2007 S60 with Premium Package, Climate package, and satellite pre-wiring with 6,000 miles on it for $25,795. I thought that was a great price...remember that was also before car sales completely fell off of a cliff so I'm sure you can get a much ... Read More
I was at a local used car super store (regional Carmax-like dealership) looking at a few Acura TLs and a Lexus IS 250. I was shocked to find a 2008 Volvo S60 2.5T in perfect condition with 19k miles for under $22k! The Edmunds TMV for Dealer Retail is showing as $27,616 and Trade-In is almost $23k...I'm trying to determine if I've lucked up on a great deal or is Edmunds ... Read More
I have had my Volvo serviced at which time I complained about the headlights are aimed too low. The dealer said they ran updated software and cleared all the headlight codes and that should fix it. The lights are still too low and the dealer is saying they will check but if they don't find anything then there is nothing they can do. I have heard that the lights are in ... Read More
eights38 - I'm in RI and the offer came from Inskip Volvo. As hard as we got hit with snow on Fri, I'm inclined to agree that AWD is the way to go. :)
I am in the market for a new car. VW Passat turbo 6A and Volvo S40/S60 are on the list. I also think about the 2007 S60 with 6000-10000 mile loan car at dealership. How much is a fair of good price to buy one? They are asking 28000. But given the depreciation amount on true cost sheet from edmunds it should be lower than 26000. Also the 2007 does not ... Hi gnotcat. I don't believe that Volvo is currently providing any cash incentives on leases of the 2008 S60 through Volvo Finance. It does have $750 dealer cash on this model right now, but it is not compatible with Volvo Finance's special lease program. Volvo is providing a $5,000 cash incentive on leases of 2008 S60 2.5T 2WD models through independent banks. Car_man Host Prices Paid: Buying & Leasing Experiences Forum ... Read More
well... if I assume you took a 15k per year lease, we're talking maintenance for the next 45k miles. In that time, if you change the oil every 5k miles (i don't know what current requirements are of the '08 S60, but 5k is probably too soon), that's 9 oil changes. If you use an independent volvo mechanic, those will be ~$30 each, for a total of $270. You MAY need ... Read More

I have an offer for a 2007 S60 2.5T w/premium and metallic paint. Is this a good deal? What's the deal re: the tranny? Is there a problem w/the tranny? Would I be better off w/a 2008? Going to dealer tomorrow. Any help, thanks! Love my Volvo, but want to make the right move.
Hi pbs0626. Here's the info that you're looking for. Volvo Finance's current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2008 Volvo S60 2.5T with 15,000 miles per year are .00194 and 50%, respectively. The numbers for an otherwise identical 48 month lease are .00249 and 43%. You can use these numbers and the formula that is outlined in the following formula to calculate ... Read More

Having driven Watkins Glen, Summit Point, and Virginia International Raceway, I know first-hand that there is a big difference between a car that excels on the track and a car that excels on the road. The CTS may have good track credentials, but as a vehicle to carry four passengers and their stuff on the road, the CTS faces tough competition for the dollars charged. Car reviews so often concentrate on ... Read More
Having rented recently, each for a week, an Infiniti M35 and an Audi A6 3.2, I looked forwarded to trying out the 2008 Cadillac CTS, in which I sat this morning. Audi, Infiniti, Lexus and others need not worry about this would-be competitor. If anything, the CTS seems to a competitor for the Audi A4, BMW 3, Infiniti G35, Volvo S60 and other similarly priced cars. The CTS lacks so many ... Read More
Hey dont be too sad about the R-Line demise. As the Saying goes: "When one door closes, Another door opens" so maybe volvo has something bigger and better planned. The 2008 s40/V50 look GREAT, like mini s80's. The s60s current position in the lineup is so overlapped IMO. The s40 outshines the s60 and the s80 is a better overall car than the s60 IMO. I guess RWD is something to ... Read More
The widely held belief is because Volvo has spent decades and millions of dollars being the safety leader - and telling us that. The other manufacturers have finally caught up due to IIHS testing. IMHO, that's a good thing. The Volvo S60 ranks Good for Frontal, Acceptable for Side and Good for rear impact/head restraint. The Subaru Legacy ranks Good for Frontal, Good for Side, and Acceptable for rear impact/head restraint. ... Read More
5.7 seconds isn't "slow". A decade ago, Porsches were doing barely any better, and last I checked, it's alot better than the domestics. Really - it used to be "It's crap if it's not 6 seconds" now it's 5 seconds? Last I checked humans haven't evolved in the last 10-20 years. 5.7 seconds... Most people would consider it as "really fast". Oh - and it's not a test-track only result. I've ... Read More
