I test drove a 2005 Volvo S60 2.5T today at a local dealership. It has 48,000 miles and seems to be in great condition with having only 1 owner. They are asking $16,209. This would be my first Volvo and I really enjoyed the test drives today. Does this seem like a good deal, opinions? Thanks! Read More...

05 S60 2.5T is a very good car. If you are worried about repair costs, spend a little more and get a Volvo CPO car. Volvo's are not cars to buy and maintain on the cheap. Read More...

I am currently shopping for a decent 2005 S60 2.5T AWD. I have recently been reading a lot of blogs etc on what a nightmare Volvos are. With repairs, services, transmissions, cost to repair, etc. Am I hearing only one side of the story? My payment will be quite enough, I don't want a car payment and a repair payment. Not sure if you are still shopping or not after looking at the dates. This last 2 weeks I was in the same boat. I had a Ford F150 LAriat I bought new in 2005 with 21 miles and had decided it was time to trade in for something with better gas millage. Im coming out early off a 2005 BMW 3Series lease, I put way too many miles. In order for me to get out of the lease as I am "flipped" ill get into a Volvo Lease with the idea of buying at the end of the lease. The widely held belief is because Volvo has spent decades and millions of dollars being the safety leader - and telling us that. The other manufacturers have finally caught up due to IIHS testing. Just bought a 2006 S60 T5. It had been put on the road Dec 1, 2005 and was a service loaner at the dealership since then, running up about 7500 miles. It still smells like leather, if that is what bothers your wife. BTW I just test drove the 2007 Camry - I'm 5'10" and the front seat is incredibly short for me - passed on it. Didn't note the smell.
