Shift knob trigger broken

Any leads appreciated! The trigger button on my 2002 S60 broke off, one of the small plastic connections broke. I'm living with it wrapped in electrical tape! I'm beginning to believe that goolge and other are paid NOT to provide self help if possible.....Days of searching about multiple bulb failures as well. HELP!!! HELP!!! HELP!!! I love my 2002 turbo S60 VOLVO up until now. I am really stressing with this issues here, I went to the store got back in my car to start it up and when I got to the first stop light I noticed the dashboard had gone out.. Just blanked out. WOW!! I thought that $7k was too low. The rest the 01-02s are going for $12k. The 03-04about $14k. 05-06 $17k 07-08 $33k. And most of them are really stripped models. I saw several with cloth! Maybe Miami is drastically different than NJ when it comes to volvo pricing, but I think the price seems a bit high. Dealer in my state has two 2002 S60s right now. One seems to be optioned the same as the one you are talking about, but only has 54k miles. Priced at $9890. The other is an AWD model with all of the above options and 103k miles for $7990. Hey I would just like an opinion. I would like to know 1st if the 2002 s60 2.4 would be a great 2nd car. Coming from an 1995 Accord V6 (170 hp 17/24mpg). I have two questions. My wife and I really like the Volvo S60. Our mechanic says Volvo parts are expensive. Do you agree with this, and have you experienced the need for much repair work, or have you been impressed with its reliability? I have not found a certified mechanic in my area yet but wondered if anyone knows how to make a message of a "bulb position light out" go away. I was wondering if I should purchase a Volvo XC90 or a Lexus RX350. They are both quite luxurious. The advantage is simplyu that the Lexus is more reliable and that it has 270 horsepower pushing 251 lb torque. Yet, i have a Volvo s60 and i love it.
