Shift knob trigger broken
Any leads appreciated! The trigger button on my 2002 S60 broke off, one of the small plastic connections broke. I'm living with it wrapped in electrical tape! WOW!! I thought that $7k was too low. The rest the 01-02s are going for $12k. The 03-04about $14k. 05-06 $17k 07-08 $33k. And most of them are really stripped models. I saw several with cloth! Maybe Miami is drastically different than NJ when it comes to volvo pricing, but I think the price seems a bit high. Dealer in my state has two 2002 S60s right now. Volvo S60 a good buy?
I have two questions. My wife and I really like the Volvo S60. Our mechanic says Volvo parts are expensive. Do you agree with this, and have you experienced the need for much repair work, or have you been impressed with its reliability? Secondly, is there much of a difference between the 2002 and 2004 S60 engines? Thanks for your time and comments.

I think the "old" CLK 98-2002 was based on the E class platform; and didn't use the C Class platform until after the new C class came out (01 or so). Actually the first 1998 CLK W208 was based on the 1994 C-Class too, the CLK has always been based on the C. The last E-Class-based coupes were the 1988-1995 300CE/E320 Coupes. M

I bought a used 2002 S60 from Volvo with 36,000 miles. Within 2 months a rattle appeared from the right rear whenever the road has a rough surface. Help me! How can I fix it? It's driving me crazy! At least it's drowning out the excessive road noise. It's too bad, other than that, I love the car.

If you are trying to use your state's lemon law now, I'm afraid you may be SOL. At 30,000 miles on a MY 2002 - I don't know of a state that allows this length of time and mileage for lemon law. Stalling Problems - Carbon buildup
I think I may have been too vague. The car is a 2002 Volvo S60 with about 11,000 miles. I'm not sure there would be carbon buildup so soon, but then again, maybe that is why they recommend premium gas. If you think carbon buildup is still possible, do you recommend fuel injector cleaner?
