Vehicle2009 Volvo S40 2.4i 4dr Sedan (2.4L 5cyl 5A)
ReviewThis is my first Volvo after owning a V6 Honda Accord. I find the non-turbo very underpowered and an overall disappointment. Passing vehicles almost always requires the use of the auto-stick. Seats become uncomfortable after long drives and climate control is very difficult to regulate. I would recommend that you thoroughly investigate performance prior to purchasing
Best Featuresstyling, options available in base model, warranty
Worst Featuresimprove climate control, relocate inaccessible lumbar adjustment wheel, rethink engine/transmission combination

As a follow up to this post I have to say that with 50k on the car, it has been a reasonable car to date with the exception of the performance issues. Handling on this car is really good. I agree with one of the posters about the lack of back seat room but that is not something I considered in my purchase as I have people there less than 5 percent of the time. With regards to maintenance, I have not had alot of problems with the car except for electrical issues. I am on the original tires and brakes, which say something for their parts as I feel that I am hard on brakes. I had the front end worked on under warranty soon after picking the car up as well as having two sensors replaced in '10. I just had the trans controller and siren module replaced under warranty. (The siren module had to do with an on-going problem occuring on an intermittent basis since new and the dealer found it by chance.) If these parts were not under warranty, it would have been close to 1,000 in parts (incl. taxes) if I had to buy the parts off of the internet and do the work myself. I will maybe update at 75K if people are interestedReport it
