I have a 2007 C70 Volvo and I have gone through ten tires just on the back. I am learning now there may be an issue with the cambor and Volvo has an after market piece they can put on the 2007 to correct the problem of the tires wearing too quickly. They also are indicating to me I will have to pay for this. Has anyone else had a similar ... Read More
I bought my volvo in Sept. 2006. The initial tires were selected by the dealer and were performance tires on 18 inch wheels only rated for 15000 miles. I now have 81000 miles and have been through 4 sets of tires,.. According to the dealership, Volvo found an excessive cambor problem with the back tires and fixed this on the 2010. Now they want me to pay for repair to my ... Read More
Bought a fully loaded 2007 C70 with NAV. Like having a built-in system but the GPS is not as good as some handhelds that I have seen. Does anyone know if Volvo is planning on an update to the software/system?
Postal this message back in March. In my case both the Volvo dealer AND tire shop recommended an alignment. Also had the bi-xenon headlight issue - took two trips to the dealer to have them adequately adjusted upward. Read on, please... When I bought my C70 in May of 2007 I noticed the sticker on the window stating that Volvo equipped the car with high-performance tires and to expect a tread ... Read More
I previously drove a 2001 and 2002 C70 with 17 inch wheels. I lived in Kansas City and loved the way it handled in any type of weather. In Fall of 2006, I purchased a 2007 C70 and have had an expensive problem. My previous care was totaled and I needed a car fast. I had my heart set on the Volvo C70 and found one in San Diego (we now ... Read More
Oops - should have included that information. I have the 18" Mizram wheels that undoubtedly contribute to the situation since they don't leave much room for rubber. BTW, the tire model # is Hankook Ventus 1004768 (235/40R18)
Thanks for the information Bob. Do you have the 17" or 18" wheels on your C70?
When I bought my C70 in May of 2007 I noticed the sticker on the window stating that Volvo equipped the car with high-performance tires and to expect a tread life of around 20,000 miles. It struck me as strange that Volvo would put such tires on any of their vehicles. I bought a Volvo to be safe and because it looked sporty and fun - not because I wanted or ... Read More
For sure lessors offer different programs in different states. But I suspect that the primary reason that good deals, be they purchase or lease, are available on the C70 at the moment is that there is a lot more dealer inventory of these cars now than a year ago, when dealers were selling them at or close to sticker. In my area, several smaller dealers have four or five units in ... Read More
We originally went to Sweden and picked up our car in late November 2006- and drove it in the dark, rain, and cold. We loved every second of our adventure! But we never (for good reason) put the top down during our travel. A while back - in June actually, I posted a notification about our retractable HD stalling. It all started with a passenger window not working in sync. This ... Read More
On other C70 or general Volvo forums I have seen multiple posts about Bi-Xenon headlamps being aimed too low, out of the factory. I think in most cases the dealer agreed that they were aimed too low, and did the readjustment. The vertical aim of the headlights is a bit different between when the roof is up, and when it is down. (With the roof in the trunk the front of ... Read More
Purchased my Celestial Blue 2007 C70 on May 15, 2007. Car was fully-loaded with an MSRP of $49,377. Being in Los Angeles, I have the luxury of having about a dozen Volvo dealers within reasonable driving distance. For a $50,000 purchase, I don't mind driving an hour. Checked the dealer websites and found 4 that had the exact car I wanted. Emailed the Sales Manager at each store with a "song ... Read More

I have a 2007 Gold C70 I picked up in Sweden in September 2006 and have really enjoyed it. Although my wife wants to drive it much more than I had hoped. Interesting, erisaman. Yes, my car is a US-version T5. I picked it up from the dealer in late January, but I believe that it was manufactured in December 2006 (from one of the stickers on the car), so a little bit after yours. I was intitially wondering if the part had just been inadvertantly left off my car. But I've seen photos of another 2007 engine compartment, from a 2007 US ... Read More
In case you are interested, the April 2007 issue of Road and Track has a comparison article on the C70 and the VW Eos. I think the article is also available at www.roadandtrack.com (or whatever R&T's web site is). It's not a full-blown A versus B comparison road test, with points given for various objective and subjective criteria, but more of summary description of both cars. They did publish their normal ... Not true it repairing a tire with the sealant is not a function of the puncture - according to the Volvo 2007 C70 Owner's Manual: "A tire that has been temporarily inflated with the tire sealing kit cannot be repaired and re-used. It must be replaced."
I have a new 2007 C70. At the time ordering, I was given the option, at no additional cost, of a tire sealing kit or a temporary spare. I don't think you can compare Volvo to Volkswagon very well as I have said in the other forum just like you can't compare the Volvo to the Mercedes. I agree with gbrozen's points about the platform. I don't know why they don't know. I did check w/ Volvo and they confirmed that none of the C70's are being pre-wired. I don't know if the C70 Sirius unit will even be available as a dealer option. It is a factory option on the 07's.
True, in a way. I had been waiting to test drive the C70 for a year, and then decided it wasn't for me after one drive, so I bought something else very different. The pricing for the 2007 C70 OSD delivery is set. There is no discount, other than the SAS air for 2, one nights lodging and no $695 destination fee. I have not driven either, as they are not yet available, but the 2007 Audi A4 3.2 (with its upgraded engine, suspension and safety features) looks to be a superior car to the 2006 Volvo C70 in every way, other than the stereo and the lack of a hard top (and a couple of thousand dollars).
